According to reports, Everton have received a boost in the race to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane following Victor Lindelof’s move to Manchester United being imminent.
Upon completing the signing of Lindelof, United will likely cool their interest in their former youth product. Keane was impressive in the Premier League this past season, starting 35 out of 38 Premier League outings for Burnley.
His performances have reportedly made the defender a target of Everton and United. Everton are looking to boost their ranks ahead of Europa League action as well as in order to challenge for a place in the Champions League next season.
The Toffees will need new defensive options for next season as Ramiro Funes Mori and Seamus Coleman are out injured with long term problems. With Phil Jagielka also now towards the latter stages of his career, the signature of Keane will be a good addition for the club.
