Former Scotland international footballer Jackie McNamara has hailed the performances of Celtic ace Stuart Armstrong.
McNamara knows Armstrong well having, managed him while he was a player at Dundee United before he joined the Hoops in 2015 for £2 million.
Armstrong has blossomed as a football since joining Celtic and played a big role in helping the club claim treble success this past season.
McNamara feels that the 25-year-old Armstrong was a major bargain for the Hoops and hailed his performances saying, “You’d have to speak to Stephen Thompson at Dundee United to find out exactly what Celtic paid for him and Gary — but I think it was less than £2m, That was a major bargain.
“I couldn’t give you a value now for Stuart, but it would be a lot more than what he cost Celtic”.
There is no doubt that Armstrong’s value has now escalated as a result of his contributions to the Celtic team and he will play a big role in the club next season, who will be aiming to impress in European competition.
