Celtic have been handed a boost in their hopes of signing Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes following Cardiff City’s decision to withdraw their bid for the player according to reports.
According to reports from earlier in the week, Aberdeen had asked the Bhoys to up their offer following a matched £1.2 million offer from Cardiff.
The English Championship club have now decided to withdraw their bid which will likely result in Celtic signing the player.
Aberdeen are looking to take Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie on loan as part of the deal. At 29, Hayes will be at a stage of his career where he will want to be part of a team that can win trophies.
Hence a move to the Bhoys is likely to happen. Considering that Christie is not as yet a first team regular for Brendan Rogders side, his loan deal is also likely to be sanctioned by the club.
