Benfica attacker admits he wants to join Rangers

Benfica winger Daniel Candeias has revealed that he will be delighted to join Rangers and reunite with manager Pedro Caixinha.

Whilst speaking about the reports linking him with a move to Rangers, Candeias said, “It’s always good to have your name linked to big clubs. I know the manager well, because we’ve worked together at Nacional, and if there’s interest we’ll talk.”

The 29-year old-Candeias previously played under Caixinha at Nacional between 2011 and 2012 before joining Benfica in 2014. Caixinha is working hard to bolster his squad as he looks to re-establish the Gers as a dominant force within Scottish football.

Thus far he has already signed Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack and Fabio Cardoso on permanent deals while Dalcio has joined the club on loan.

Luring Candeias will probably cost in the region of £700,000 and this is unlikely to convince Caixinha against completing his signing.
