Newcastle have received a transfer boost following the confirmation of Arsenal signing Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac. The signing of Kolasinac for the Gunners will boost the chances of the Magpies acquiring Kieran Gibbs this summer.
Gibbs will drop further down the pecking order at the London club following the arrival of Kolasinac and the club may be willing to sell him this summer, especially considering that he is currently backup to Nacho Monreal.
Considering that Rafa Benitez is looking to bolster his side this summer with players who are experienced in the Premier League, Gibbs will be a good signing for the Magpies.
The 27-year-old Gibbs currently has 137 Premier League appearances to his name as well as 43 Champions League matches under his belt.
Considering that he also has just one year remaining on his current contract, Arsenal will also likely be more than willing to sell instead of losing him for free.
