According to popular bookmakers Skybet, Huddersfield Town are 9/2 favorites to sign striker Chris Wood from arch-rivals Leeds United. Wood was in impressive this past season, finishing with 27 goals to also end as Championship overall top- goal scorer.
Despite the heroics of Wood, Leeds could not win promotion to the Premier League after finishing in seventh on the Championship standings and the lure of playing in the top flight for Huddersfield, who clinched promotion to the top flight after winning the playoffs, could appeal to the New Zealand international.
Many fans of Leeds are also under the impression that Woods chances of departing from the Yorkshire club have been increased as a result of manager Garry Monk departing the club.
Wood has two years left on his current deal at Elland Road after having joined Leeds from Leicester City for £3 million in June 2015.
