According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur flop Moussa Sissoko is nearing a £22 million transfer to French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
The 27-year-old Sissoko joined the Lilywhites from Newcastle United last summer for £30 million and was a huge disappointment after failing to find the back of the net and contributing just two assists during 34 outings for the club. Some have even labeled him as one of the worst Tottenham signings in history.
Sissoko recently said that he may be looking for a new club in order to play more regularly and to boost his chances of making the French national team squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Though the rumored move will see Spurs suffer a £8 million loss on the player, they will likely be content with that fee, considering how disappointing the players performances were throughout this past season.
Mauricio Pochettino is well-aware that he made an error in signing Sissoko and should use his sale to fund the development of younger players.
