Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in their hopes of signing Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe after the player indicated that he would like to play in the Premier League.
Spurs may have to look for a new right back this summer given that Kyle Walker is expected to join Manchester City.
Sidibe will be a good replacement, especially considering that he has impressed this past season for Monaco who won the French Ligue 1 and also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Sidibe said while speaking about the Premier League, “It’s a league that attracts me, but there are a lot of French players who left early or at a time in their career that wasn’t necessarily the best, and they have disappeared a little.”
The chances are high that Sidibe will want to play in the Premier League at some point, however it remains to be seen when that will happen. Considering that Monaco could lose a number of players this summer after their successes last term, the club may be reluctant to part ways.
