According to reports, Italian side Bologna could swoop for Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, should their current first choice shot-stopper Antoino Mirant, who has attracted the interest of Roma and Juventus, leave this summer.
Silvestri was a first team regular during his first two seasons at Elland Road and went on to amass 88 appearances for the club.
However after the arrival of veteran former England first choice keeper Rob Green last summer, he was displaced as first choice and has served as backup since.
Green started all 46 matches in the Championship this past season and this must be a cause of frustration to Silvestri, who may be open to a move to a club which gives him assurances over first team football.
Should Silvestri not be part of the new Leeds manager’s future plans, there is a strong chance that he will leave the club in search of first team football elsewhere.
