West Ham reportedly set to make a move for German defender

According to reports, West Ham could make a move for out of contract Darmstadt winger Marcel Heller this summer.

Heller is out of contract and will look to move on from Darmstadt following the clubs relegation from the German Bundesliga this past season.

Despite the clubs relegation, Heller was a regular feature in the Bundesliga this past season and made 34 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals in the process.

The experienced 31-year-old left back has played alongside the likes of Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Toni Kroos and Mesut Oezil for the German under-21 side between 2007 and 2009.

It will certainly be a surprise signing should the Hammers sign Heller, however he has experience and could be a bargain signing.

Other clubs reported to be interested in signing the German include Burnley, Turkish side Antalyaspor as well as MLS club San Jose Earthquakes. Heller may fancy a challenge in a different country at this stage of his career.
