Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted that he may find it difficult to turn down the advances of Barcelona.
Eriksen enjoyed a stellar season for Spurs as was voted as the Club’s Player of the Year by supporters after playing a key role in helping the club finish second on the Premier League standings as well as scoring 12 goals and recording 20 assists in the process.
Frank De Boer, who previously managed Eriksen at Ajax, also said that the Denmark international has all the qualities that are required to succeed at a club such as Barcelona.
The 25-year-old Eriksen signed a new four year contract with Spurs last September but he did admit that it may be difficult to turn down the advances of Barcelona.
He said, “I’ve been there [on trial as a teenager] at one point, and it didn’t work out too well. But Barcelona is a fantastic club — I don’t think there a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona.
“But there is ‘interest’ and then there is concrete interest. Until there is some concrete interest, I don’t have an opinion about it.”
