According to statistics from the Premier League last season, Sunderland’s Didier N’Dong was one of the most prolific tacklers in the English top flight.
The Black Cats had a poor season, finishing the League in last position and being relegated after a ten year spell in the Premier League. However news about N’Dong is at least something good.
In-demand Black Cats goalkeeper Jordan Pickford’s 135 saves was also only bettered by Burnley shot-stopper Tom Heaton.
Jermain Defoe’s 99 shots was the 12th highest tally in the League this past season and the veteran forward may have bagged more goals had he received better service.
While Pickford and Defoe are likely to leave the Black Cats in order to extend their Premier League stays this summer, there is a chance that N’Dong will remain at the Stadium of Light.
N’Dong was ranked joint 14th among Premier League midfielders for the number of tackles won last season.
