According to reports, Everton are trying to hijack a deal from Real Soceidad to sign Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente.
Real Sociedad are reportedly keen to lure Llorente and are expected to engage in talks with Madrid over finalizing a £7 million deal to buy the player.
However Everton could hijack this move and should they make their interest known, Sociedad may have to pay a higher price.
Llorents appears to be surplus to requirements at Madrid and will likely be sold by the Champions League winners this summer. The 23-year-old Llorents spent last season on loan with Malaga for whom he made 27 appearances and scored two goals.
The prospect of playing in the Europa League next season for Everton may be something that appeals to Llorente, who has one cap for the Spain national team. Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is also preparing to bolster his side to challenge for a place in the top four next season.
