According to reports, Celtic will make a final decision on whether to swoop for Aberdeen midfielder Jonny Hayes after Cardiff City planned to hijack their bid.
With it currently being uncertain as to whether Patrick Roberts will return to Parkhead next season, Hayes will be a perfect replacement for the youngster.
Celtic reportedly had medical staff on standby as they were preparing to secure a deal for Hayes by offering £1 million as well as Ryan Christie on loan for next season.
Cardiff are however planning to hijack the deal by making an offer of £1.2 million to Aberdeen for the signature of Hayes.
Due to the fact that Celtic will allow him the opportunity to play in the Champions League, the Bhoys will remain favorites to complete the signing from a neutral perspective but it will be interesting to see what happens.
Brendan Rodgers is also looking to make more signings to the Celtic squad in addition to Hayes as he looks to improve the team’s performances in European competition next season.
