According to reports, Celtic are currently in advanced talks with Manchester City regarding signing youngster Patrick Roberts on a permanent deal.
Roberts played a key role in Celtic’s treble success last season and became a fan favorite at the club especially after deciding against playing for the England under-21’s in order to play for the Bhoys during their Scottish Cup final win against Aberdeen.
City are said to be willing to sell Roberts on condition that Celtic meet their asking price of £10 million.
Pep Guardiola was reported to be keen to bring back Roberts to challenge for a place in his team next season. However it now appears that he is willing to sell the youngster should his club receive their asking price as he looks to trim down the squad ahead of next season.
Roberts will definitely be a good signing for Celtic but it remains to be seen if the two clubs can reach an agreement over a deal.
