Tottenham reportedly target former player to replace Kyle Walker

According to reports, Tottenham are keen on re-signing former defender Adam Smith as a replacement for Kyle Walker, who is set to depart this summer.

Walker is reportedly unhappy at the North London Club after losing his place in the first team during the final weeks of this past season to Kieran Trippier.

The 27-year-old Walker has been valued at £45 million and has attracted serious interest from Manchester City, who are looking to add in more homegrown talent into their squad ahead of next season.

Smith was sold to Bournemouth before Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Spurs and only made one senior appearance for the club, which came during a win over Fulham during the final day of the season in May 2012.

The 26-year-old Smith was ever-present in the Premiership for the Cherries last season playing 36 matches and scoring one goal. He may also be keen on a reunion with his boyhood club.

  1. I thought we were only selling the players we want to, just keep walker, give him a pay rise, he’s worth more than what he’s getting, he’s one of the best right backs in Europe, we’d be mad to let him go.
