Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly aiming to buy make their loan deal for Pau Lopez permanent and are said to have offered his parent club Espanyol €2 million as well as another €2 million in add on fees.
Pau did not feature for Spurs during the season and was the club’s third choice goalkeeper behind captain Hugo Lloris and second choice Michel Vorm.
However the 22-year-old, who is due to play for Spain at the under 21 European Championships this summer, has reportedly been highly rated by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pau’s contract with Espanyol is due to expire in one year and Tottenham will be confident that they can sign him on a permanent basis.
The North London club had the opportunity to buy him on a permanent basis during the January transfer window for €7 million but opted not to as delaying proceedings will allow them to buy at a cheaper rate.
