Celtic winger Gary-Mackay Steven has been linked with a move to Sheffield United according to reports as the Blades look to bolster their side ahead of their return to the English Championship.
Mackay-Steven has struggled to earn regular game time at Parkhead this season and may be allowed by the club to leave.
Mackay- Steven is on the list of summer targets wanted by Sheffield; however after appearing in the group phase of the Champions League, there is a possibility that it may not be possible for the club for pay the figure that is required to secure a deal.
Reports suggest that Sheffield will in fact propose to Celtic a loan deal for Mackay-Steven with the possibility of making the deal permanent either in January or next summer.
United boss Chris Wilder will however, not agree to any loan which may involve clauses. It remains to be seen if Sheffield will be the club that Celtic sends Mackay-Steven to.
