Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has vowed to fight for a place in the team.
After moving to Spurs from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar last summer, Janssen has struggled to establish himself within the first team of the North London club, having scored just twice from 27 Premier League appearances.
Though he failed to provide support to Golden boot winner Harry Kane, Janssen insisted that he is still focused on trying to excel at Spurs and said, “I would not have minded had the season gone on a bit longer. I would have played more then.
“It is clear that this was not my best season. But I still learned a lot.”We finished second in the Premier League, so I think we can be satisfied. I did not have much of a role in Spurs’ successful season. I expected to play more. But this is the way it is.”
With Atletico Madrid forward Kevin Gamiero linked with a move to the Lilywhites, it would be interesting to see if Janssen has a future with the club, should the Frenchman arrive.
