Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen is set to hold talks with his club about his future after returning from international duty with the Netherlands national team.
Many had expected Janssen to shine for Spurs this season and provide support to Harry Kane after moving from AZ Alkmaar last summer for a fee in the region of £18.5 million.
However the Dutch international struggled to settle into life at the North London club and scored just two goals in the Premier League from 27 matches and was only handed several starts.
Whilst addressing speculation about his future, Janssen said, “I want to focus on the Dutch team first. After that, we will see how all parties see the future. I’ve always said I will give it a go at Spurs for at least a year.”
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will prefer to offload Janssen or rather prefer to give him more opportunities to settle into life in England.
