Mario Balotelli has hit back at Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who claimed, in jest, at an awards ceremony on Tuesday night, that the Italian was the best player that he had ever coached.
Balotelli and Rodgers worked together for a season at Liverpool. For Balotelli, his stint with the Merseyside club was one of the low-points of his career. He struggled for form and was continuously in and out of the side.
Despite Liverpool having paid £16 million to lure Balotelli, he managed just one Premier League goal for the club from 16 appearances and four goals overall from 26 matches in all competitions.
The 26 year old Italian didn’t seem to enjoy the joke, and took to Twitter to respond to Rodgers saying: “Brendan Rodgers you are also the best manager I ever had. Amazing”. The two former Liverpool men share no love for each other.
Brendan Rodgers you are also the best manager I ever had😂😘😘. Amazing.

This season, Balotelli has regained his form, scoring 16 goals from 26 games for Ligue 1 outfit Nice and thus helping the club achieve Champions League qualification.
