According to a West Ham club source, Michail Antonio will not be leaving the club. Reports emerged earlier in the season suggesting the 27-year-old would leave the Hammers after not being happy with conditions that the club were offering him.
Antonio currently earns £35,000 and was believed to have rejected a contract offer worth £70,000 a week. The player’s representatives however declined that any contract was ever offered in the first place and maintained that if it were to be the case, it would probably be signed.
Antonio’s representative said, “Michail Antonio has categorically not been offered a £70,000-a-week contract thereby has never rejected a contract. If the club were to offer a deal in that region I am sure it would be signed but the offer was well below that value.”
Antonio is one of West Ham’s best players and there is no doubt that the club will try hard to keep him at London Stadium for the future.
