Newcastle reportedly plotting ambitious move for £27million-rated striker

Newcastle United have been linked with the signing of Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose. Rafa Benitez is set to secure a move for the player during the summer, with the Magpies looking set for a return to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has been in good form this season having netted 11 goals from 22 games in all competitions for his club.

However should the Magpies wish to land the striker, they will likely have to compete with Everton. The Toffee’s are set to lose Romelu Lukaku during the summer and are reportedly willing to fork out £27million to lure Jose.

It is hard to see Newcastle splashing a lot of cash. However they will certainly need to sign a striker given Dwight Gayle’s injury problems, Darryl Murphy’s advancing age as well as the fact that Aleksandar Mitrovic has not exactly been effective at St James Park.

  1. there’s just no way anyone can convince our cheap-ass owner to shell out that kinda bread for Carvalho, no matter how many goals he’s scored.

We can expect players close to the end of their contracts, that their clubs no longer want, with new managers who want to rebuild, with their own players.

Then there are the future stars close to breaking into the top sides, who need another season playing on loan in the PL and who better to manage them than Rafa.

We definitely need some goal-scoring, a decent striker, a left back, plus a central defender that can get involved both defensively and up-field, McGuire looks decent, Shawcross also, but his game is mostly defense which is a problem being Ashley looks at sell on value and he’s much older than McGuire.

We could also use a Cabaye-like midfielder who could compliment Shelvey, someone who can score, put his foot in and lay off that perfect pass, but again Cabaye has passed his sell by date as far as Ashley is concerned.

As for Colback, too much like Tiote collects too many cards and is not exactly a great tactical head or passer of the ball, how about McCarthy at Everton, young but experienced and would connect perfectly with Shelvey.

Again Everton are apparently willing to shell out twenty eight big ones for Willian Jose, but lets put in a bid and see what happens, being we badly need a young proven striker, as Gayle appears to be something of a sick note, how many times has he been out this season alone.

Look it could be a costly summer for Ashley, but you don’t make money without investment and if we are relegated (considering we manage to get promoted) once again, it will have a major effect on the club, two season missing EPL funding could be devastating.

Hopefully Rafa. can convince our dear leader and bring in the right people to cement our EPL place, until we can rebuild completely and perhaps challenge for summit, ain’t that what our dear leader said, he’s gonna stick around until we win something, yeah right !
