Newcastle reportedly plotting ambitious move for £27million-rated striker

Newcastle United have been linked with the signing of Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose. Rafa Benitez is set to secure a move for the player during the summer, with the Magpies looking set for a return to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old has been in good form this season having netted 11 goals from 22 games in all competitions for his club.

However should the Magpies wish to land the striker, they will likely have to compete with Everton. The Toffee’s are set to lose Romelu Lukaku during the summer and are reportedly willing to fork out £27million to lure Jose.

It is hard to see Newcastle splashing a lot of cash. However they will certainly need to sign a striker given Dwight Gayle’s injury problems, Darryl Murphy’s advancing age as well as the fact that Aleksandar Mitrovic has not exactly been effective at St James Park.
