According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to show an interest in highly rated Portuguese midfielder Joao Carvalho, who is currently with Vitoria Setubal on loan from Benfica.
The source further states that the North London club sent scouts to watch the player who turns 20 next week during Vitoria’s 1-1 draw with Braga on February 26.
Though he has only made four appearances this season, he is regarded as one of Portugal’s brightest prospects for the future and Spurs will be keen to buy now in order to get him for as cheap as possible. Carvalho is certainly not ready to play in the Premier League at this stage in time.
However, he may be a good investment for Spurs’ future aspirations. Mauricio Pochettino is also keen to add talented players to his squad in order to challenge for major trophies in future years to come.
