Sunderland make defender signing in a bid to avoid relegation

Sunderland have completed the signing of Bryan Oveido as they attempt to avoid Premier League relegation this season.

The left back has signed from Everton after struggling to break into the first team. During the current season, he made only seven appearances for the Toffees.

Oviedo began his career in Costa Rica with DeportivoSaprissa. Impressive performances engineered a move to Danish club FC Copenhagen in 2010. He spend his debut season in Europe with Nordsjælland and helped them to the FC Cup.

The following season, Oviedo starred as Copenhagen captured the Danish Superliga which attracted the interest of then Everton manager David Moyes.

Oviedo has signed a deal with the Black Cats till the summer of 2020. He may have not seen much action during the season thus far but that will change now. He is likely to be used by Moyes to try and save the club from relegation.
