Arsenal are interested in signing Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, according to talkSPORT.
The report claims the Gunners are closely following Kessie’s progress in Italy, but Wenger’s team faces competitions from Sunderland, Juventus and Inter Milan.
The 19-year-old Ivorian midfielder, who’s contracted to the Italian club until 2021, has scored 4 goals in 9 Serie A appearances so far this season.
It looks like his fine form has caught the attention of several clubs and a transfer could be on the cards as soon as January.
Given the recent arrivals of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka, Arsenal don’t really need more midfielders right now, but the club could view Kessie as one for the future.
The powerful and energetic midfielder is tailor-made for the English Premier League and he could find himself playing in it in the near future, though staying in Serie A is also believed to be an option for the teenager.
