Barcelona continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in the midweek Champions League encounter but it has to be said that the Catalan giants had to work extremely hard in order to be able to claim the three points from the encounter.
Now Barcelona will be focusing their attention towards La Liga ahead of the international break and they square off against a solid Celta de Vigo side at the Nou Camp on Sunday.
Celta are currently on a fine run of five matches without a defeat and Barcelona will most certainly have to play extremely well in order to be able to claim the three points on the night.
Here is the strongest possible Barcelona lineup for the clash against Celta de Vigo–
Marc-Andre ter Stegen squared off against his former side in midweek for the first time since making the move to Nou Camp and in truth, the goalkeeper had very little work to do throughout the encounter.
Ter Stegen will perhaps be a lot busier on Sunday against Celta and he will surely want to keep a clean sheet from the clash.
With Samuel Umtiti definitely ruled out once again, it looks like Javier Mascherano will be the man lining up in central defence alongside defensive rock Gerard Pique.
Luis Enrique’s first choice full back duo consists of Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto and the duo are also expected to continue in the starting lineup this weekend. The likes of Aleix Vidal, Jeremy Mathieu and Lucas Digne will all be hopeful of featuring as well.
Arda Turan came on from the bench against Borussia Monchengladbach and completely turned the game on its head with his contribution.
As a result, Enrique might be tempted into handing Turan a start and if the Turkish international does so, either Ivan Rakitic or Andres Iniesta could drop out.
Given Iniesta’s ageing legs, Rakitic might just be given the nod to start. Sergio Busquets look set to continue in his central midfield pivot position for Barcelona.
Lionel Messi is still struggling with injury and it is unlikely that the Argentine superstar will be risked ahead of the international break.
Paco Alcacer started against Monchengladbach but he did not have the best of games and there is a possibility that Rafinha could take his place in the starting lineup.
In what was a rare event, Luis Suarez and Neymar both did not find the back of the net in midweek and the two players will surely be looking to make amends against Celta on Sunday night.
