Report: Chelsea ready to sign Tottenham man in a big money deal

Chelsea are keen on securing the services of Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies, according to reports from the Sun

Ben Davies has established himself as one of the finest young full-backs in the Premier League over the past few seasons and many expect the 23-year-old become a top class player in the coming years.

Despite his wonderful talent though, Davies has been unable to dislodge Danny Rose as the first choice left-back for Tottenham and there has been a bit of speculation that the Welsh international could potentially think about leaving White Hart Lane.

Now in shock reports from the Sun, it has been claimed that Premier League giants Chelsea are currently considering a swoop for the former Swansea City man.

The report states that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has identified Davies as the ideal player to play in the left-side of his three man defence and the youngster is an even more attractive proposition due to the fact that he would help fill the homegrown quota at Stamford Bridge.

It is believed that Tottenham valued Davies at around £20 million and while paying the fee should not be a problem for Chelsea, a potential obstacle to the deal could be the fact that Spurs may not want to sell to their fierce rivals.

  1. Sell him.He isn’t a top class left back and never will be.he was awful against monaco.Due to his poor movements the second goal and it was hard to recover from the second goal.he always plays with hand.he is a solid backup for rose but doesn’t deserves to be first choice ahead of rose

    • Oh PLA’EZZz. He isn’t the greatest but he is better performer than Moody-Jan-Vert. That cheating little belgo has a pish poor attitude, and constantly risks spurs giving away penalties. Wimmer should be starting ahead of him.

Spurs have bigger concerns than letting go our 2nd choice left back. Won’t be easy to find someone as good as Davies who will be happy to come to WHL and sit on the bench behind Rose. Davies proved himself at international level this summer, Rose didn’t!
