Report: Chelsea plotting a whopping £54 million double deal on deadline day

Chelsea are hopeful of securing the services of defensive duo Marcos Alonso and David Luiz for a combined fee of around £54 million on Deadline day, according to various reports from Sky Sports

Chelsea have left it till the final day of the transfer deadline in their pursuit to strengthen their backline this summer and according to reports emerging out of England, the Blues will be signing a couple of defenders on August 31st.

Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso has widely been tipped to join Chelsea over the past few weeks and recently, Sky Sports have revealed that the Spaniard is now on the verge of arriving at Stamford Bridge for a fee of around £24 million.

Chelsea have already agreed a fee with Fiorentina for Alonso and the Blues have also gone on to reach an agreement with the player over personal terms.

Despite the impending arrival of Alonso, Chelsea are in the market to sign another defender as well and in shocking reports from Sky Sports, revelations can be made that the Premier League giants are planning to re-sign David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea sold Luiz to PSG in a stunning £50 million deal two seasons ago and it is now believed that the Blues want the Brazilian international back at the club this summer after offering £30 million for his services.

Luiz is said to have failed to impress new PSG manager Unai Emery and the Spaniard could well consider dispensing with the services of the 29-year-old if the bid from Chelsea is a concrete one.
