Arsenal is reportedly interested in Newcastle midfielder and French international Moussa Sissoko, according to Liga Financial (via Spanish newspaper Marca). The transfer fee for Sissoko would reportedly cost around £12 million.
Sissoko has been with Newcastle since 2013 and has made over 100 league appearances for the Magpies. He is 26 years old, and he appears to be ready to move to a bigger club.
Sissoko often plays as a box-to-box midfielder and he was able to help create scoring chances during his time at Newcastle. He had 7 assists in league games last season, and he averaged a solid 1.5 key passes per game.
Sissoko would likely be a backup player for Arsenal due to their talented midfield, but he would be useful in that role. Still, it would probably make more sense for the Gunners to use their transfer budget to get a striker and center back.
While getting Sissoko does not seem like the most useful addition to the Arsenal team, it does seem very possible that he ends up at the Emirates.
Sissoko has expressed interest in joining Arsenal, and the Gunners are reportedly interested in Sissoko, so do not be surprised if a deal gets done.
