They might have sold a plethora of their star players to Liverpool in the past, but Southampton are reportedly adamant that it will take a mammoth 40 million Pound bid from Liverpool or Manchester United if they want to lure Sadio Mane away from the St. Mary Stadium this summer, as per Squawka.
After missing out on Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze, Jurgen Klopp has reportedly turned his attention to the South Coast in an attempt to boost his squad.
Klopp sees Mane as a high-intensity player who is perfect for the high-intensity game that Klopp advocates at Liverpool.
In addition to the long-term interest of Liverpool in the Senegalese International, it is the departure of Ronald Koeman from Southampton that has also intensified the rumors of his exit.
The Dutch Manager is set to take charge at Everton and it seems as if Mane will be his neighbor at the Merseyside.
However, if the reported stance from Southampton is anything to go by, the former Borussia Dortmund manager has to break the bank if Liverpool wants to sign Mane.
Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Mane, however, their pursuit of the 24-year-old might grow cold now that Mourinho is in charge at Man Utd.
The Portuguese is turning to Europe to strengthen his squad and with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also reportedly arriving at the Old Trafford, a move for yet another forward in Mane looks highly unlikely.
