According to Mundo Deportivo (via L’Equipe print version), Barcelona are in negotiations and reportedly close to signing center-back Samuel Umtiti from French club Lyon.
Umtiti is considered one of the top center-backs in Ligue 1, and the Cameroonian-born French international could move to the Blaugrana for up to 25 million Euros.
Journalist Fernando Polo, who works at Mundo Deportivo, sent out this tweet. But went on to say that the deal would take a bit more time to be completed.
Umtiti is coming…

Umtiti was a key part of a Lyon squad that finished second in the French league this past season behind Paris Saint-Germain, securing a place in next season’s Champions League Group stage.
According to Squawka, Umtiti had a 87 percent pass accuracy in Ligue 1 last season and won 67 percent of his aerial duels.
Barcelona find themselves in need of help at the center back position, especially with the departure of Marc Bartra. At 22 years old, Umtiti would add youth to a Barcelona defense that is lacking it and severely needs it. He can also play as a left back and provide depth and competition to current starter Jordi Alba.
Barcelona’s business isn’t likely to be done for the summer even with the purchase of Umtiti, but it would be considered a great start for the club coming off the La Liga and Copa del Rey double.
