According to reports coming from the French media outlet le 10 sport, Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has emerged as a shock transfer target for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Both the clubs value Coutinho at around 25 million pounds, but it is expected that Liverpool – if they are to sell him, will want money in the region of 40 million pounds for the Brazilian.
The 23-year-old is reportedly unsettled at Liverpool after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League for a 2nd year running.
The Reds fell just one step short, as defeat at the hands of Sevilla in the Europa League final ruled them out of next season’s Champions League.
In addition to Barcelona reportedly chasing the signature, one of their former players has urged Coutinho to leave Liverpool.
Although he is now Juventus-bound, Dani Alves has suggested Coutinho that he should consider playing for Champions League clubs.
The 34-year-old Brazilian also suggested that Coutinho has what it takes to play for Barcelona.
Thus, with the chase heating up for the Brazilian Liverpool star, PSG have now entered the race for his signature.
Coutinho is currently on International duty, as he is a part of Brazil squad that is taking part in the Copa America.
Thus, any decision on the future of Coutinho is likely to take place in the coming months.
