Liverpool are not eyeing a move for Leicester City star Jamie Vardy, according to reports from the Liverpool Echo
Jamie Vardy’s meteoric rise over the last few seasons has been simply sensational and the striker’s goals proved to be crucial in helping Leicester City lift the Premier League title against all odds last term.
Now Vardy is set to spearhead England’s attack during the upcoming European Championships and it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a number of top clubs expressing their interest in securing the services of the 29-year-old.
Vardy not joining Liverpool
Recently, it has emerged that Arsenal are keen on signing Vardy and are believed to have activated his £20 million release clause.
Arsenal are not the only top Premier League team keen on Vardy though and it had emerged that even Liverpool were ready to make a swoop for the England international.
The £20 million release clause only applies to teams set to play in the Champions League next season but Liverpool were said to be ready to offer Vardy a £140,000-per-week deal in order to lure him to Anfield.
However in surprise reports, the Liverpool Echo have stated that Liverpool are in fact not interested in signing Vardy. The reports claim that Vardy is not among the names being discussed by manager Jurgen Klopp and the Reds are instead looking to pursue other targets.
