This Wednesday, April 6, 2016, Pumas of UNAM will host Olimpia at the Estadio Olimpico Universitaro in Mexico City for a Copa Libertadores match. The Mexican and Paraguayan sides will meet for a Group 7 match where a win or tie by Pumas signifies elimination for ‘el decano’, and qualification for the ‘felinos’ into the knock-out stage.
The team coached by Guillermo Vazquez has had a successful first four games to the start of their Libertadores run as they lead their group with 9 points after 3 wins and 1 loss. The Mexican side will try to recover from a tough Liga MX Sunday loss in which they lost badly by a 4-0 margin to Chivas of Guadalajara rivals.
Pumas will host an Olimpia team who has not fared well as they have only earned 4 points after 1 win, 1 tie, and 2 losses. If Pumas win or tie this Wednesday, they will qualify into the knock-out stage and eliminate Olimpia. If Olimpia wins, the Paraguayans will have earned 7 points and make the last week of the group stages a close contest for the top two seeds with Pumas and Deportivo Tachira.
The Pumas UNAM vs Olimpia Copa Libertadores match will be televised on FOX Deportes at 8:00 PM Pacific.
