Manchester United are readying a £15million move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Ñíguez, according to reports from the Cadena Cope
Manchester United are widely expected to be strengthening their squad during the January transfer window and bringing in a couple of new attacking players has been seen as a priority for manager Louis van Gaal.
With van Gaal ready to sell Marouane Fellaini and Ben Pearson allied by injuries to the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Nick Powell, signing a central midfield player is also believed to be on the cards for United.
Ñíguez heading to Manchester?
Now according to reports from Cadena Cope, it can be revealed that United are eyeing a swoop for Atletico Madrid star Saul Ñíguez this month.
Ñíguez is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players to have emerged from Spanish football in recent years and has managed to establish himself in the Atletico Madrid first team.
However, Ñíguez has been mostly restricted to appearances from the bench so far this season and it is believed that the 21-year old could consider a move away if the right offer comes along.
Manchester United are believed to be long time admirers of Ñíguez and Spanish reports claim that the Red Devils are willing to splash close to £15million in order to secure the services of the Spanish Under-21 international during the January transfer window.
