Manchester United eye a big money bid for £44.3milion star as Rooney alternative

Manchester United are planning a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain star Lucas Moura, according to reports from L’Equipe (as cited by the Daily Express)

Manchester United labored to a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday and the Red Devils once again failed to impress with an insipid performance in attack.

With every passing game week, United’s need to strengthen their attacking lineup during the January transfer window is being further emphasized and a host of names keep getting linked with the Premier League giants.

Now according to reports emerging from L’Equipe, it has been claimed that United are planning a swoop for Brazilian star Lucas Moura this winter.

United were strongly linked with a move for Lucas back in 2013 but the attacking midfielder instead decided on a move to Paris Saint-Germain in a whopping £44.3million deal.

Despite missing out two-and-a-half years ago, United have maintained their interest in Lucas and now L’Equipe claim that the Red Devils are looking to reignite their pursuit for the PSG attacker.

One of the main reasons behind United’s poor attacking displays this season has been due to Wayne Rooney’s toothless performances up front and Lucas is said to be viewed as an alternative to the club captain by manager Louis van Gaal.
