According to Spanish outlet SportYou, Real Madrid would be looking to bring not one, or two, but three galáctico signings next summer to revolutionize the squad. These men would be Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester United’s David De Gea.
Los Blancos’ president Florentino Pérez has proved to be an ambitious man, with huge signings coming year after year. However, his team’s first loss, the injury problems and the extracurricular events involving Benzema are making him think of the future. In addition, Ronaldo’s recent controversial statements and actions add fuel to this fire. Because of this, these two men would exit the club to make room for the new galácticos.
Lewandowski has long been a Real target, even before he joined Bayern. He would give the team a different kind of #9 compared to Benzema. Nevertheless, his age may be a turnoff for some, as he would arrive next year nearing his 28th birthday. Despite this, giving the squad this influx of fresh blood would definitely be positive, especially if you look at his current form.
Hazard has also been desired by the Bernabéu for a while. Zidane recommended him when he was just starting to take off at Lille. Given his playing style, he would come in to be the new Ronaldo. This season hasn’t been his best, but he’s definitely proved in the past that he’s worthy of a spot in any top-level team. His age is a plus, as he would arrive as a 25-year-old.
Finally, we all know De Gea by now and his failed transfer to Real last summer. It’s surprising seeing him on this list since Keylor Navas has been excellent this year. Even so, it seems that Pérez wants to add another Spanish man to the squad. Regardless of this, he has the potential to grow even further if he arrives at the club.
If any manager were given the option to sign these three guys, only a handful might decline. While these are only early rumors, they do have the possibility of becoming true. Madrid would need to spend a lot of cash, but in the end, they would be using the influx that would come from selling top stars. Summer is still far away, yet if something like this happens, it will be worth the wait.
