Premier League side Liverpool are looking to make a move for AC Milan winger Jeremy Menez, according to reports
Having received a whopping £49million from the sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City, Liverpool have not wasted too much time in reinvesting the funds and are now said to be on the verge of completing a £32.5million swoop for Aston Villa star Christian Benteke.
Benteke’s arrival would most certainly strengthen the Liverpool attacking lineup but manager Brendan Rodgers will be mindful of the fact that he will need to bring in a like for like replacement for Raheem Sterling and is currently in the market for a wide player as well.
Menez being targeted by Liverpool
Barcelona’s Pedro has often been mentioned as a target for Liverpool but with Chelsea also courting the Spanish international, the Reds have been forced to draw up contingency plans as well and according to reports, it has been claimed that the Premier League side are plotting a move for AC Milan winger Jeremy Menez.
Menez joined Milan on a free transfer at the start of last season and enjoyed a wonderful campaign, scoring 16 goals in 33 league appearances despite playing in a side which struggled all season.
Menez’s brilliant form throughout the course of last season has certainly caught the eye of Rodgers and the Express have claimed that the Liverpool boss is planning to make a £10.5million swoop for the French international.
It remains to be seen whether Milan would be open to parting with Menez but the reported offer from Liverpool means that the Italian giants will be receiving a very healthy profit on Menez and they could well consider the bid, especially having splashed so much in the transfer market this summer.
