Amid reports that Sergio Ramos has agreed a deal with Manchester United, the Premier League giants are now closing in on another defender according to reports
There is a sense of excitement surrounding the Manchester United camp at the moment after it was claimed that the Red Devils agreed on a whopping £40million five year contract with Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos.
Ramos could be on his way to United
No official word has come out of either Manchester or Madrid regarding the contract agreement but with every passing day, it is looking increasingly likely that the 29-year old will end up at Old Trafford this summer.
The signing of Ramos will most certainly prove to be a huge boost for United but manager Louis van Gaal is focusing on targets elsewhere as well and it has been claimed that the Dutchman is planning to make a swoop for Valencia star Nicolas Otamendi.
United closing in on Otamendi as well
Otamendi has been consistently linked with a move to United as well as a host of other clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona but the Argentinean decided to put talks of his future on hold until the conclusion of the Copa America.
Now with the Copa America done and dusted, Otamendi is open to a move and according to reports from the Express, United are close to securing the services of the 27-year old.
The reports claim that Otamendi is keen on a move to United and the recent departure of Valencia president Amadeo Salvo (who was hell bent on demanding the £35.5 million release clause for the defender) has paved the way for the deal to be completed for a ‘cut-price’ fee.
