Liverpool to continue summer spending spree by signing Spanish superstar

According to ESPNFC.com and Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona could sell winger Pedro Rodriguez to Liverpool this summer if their asking price is met.

The report is suggesting that Barcelona would be willing to cash in on the Spanish international if their 20 million pound evaluation is met by the Merseysiders.

Pedro has struggled to find a way into Luis Enrique’s starting eleven after the front three of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar became more and more in sync with each other.

I think Pedro is a good player, not a great player, but he could provide help to a Liverpool side that needs attacking threats all over the pitch. Liverpool never replaced Luis Suarez and were unable to cope with the injuries of Daniel Sturridge, thus, they found it hard to locate the back of the net consistently in the Premier League last season.

Liverpool have already made some signings this summer and if they can lure Barcelona to sell Pedro, he would become the seventh new arrival at Anfield. Liverpool are set to complete the signing of former Southampton right back, Nathaniel Clyne next week.

Liverpool needed to go on a summer signing spree this summer and so far they have done that. They may not be the biggest and most talked about transfers, but they just need to buy quality players and so far, they are looking better than they did just 12 months ago in the transfer market.

I think Pedro would be a good fit at Anfield as he can play out wide and provide some serious width and the ability to take players on and beat them. Pedro is a good crosser of the ball, as well as a good technically skilled dribbler.

With the Raheem Sterling saga still in full effect, Pedro would be a good signing especially for the price of around 20 million pounds. He could be a good replacement for Sterling if they decide to cash in on him or Pedro could play on one flank with Sterling playing on the other or even behind the striker in that No. 10 role.

I can see this transfer happening as Barcelona have the best front three in the world and Pedro is now just a squad player at best. He is very talented and Barcelona could decide to sell him and use that transfer fee money to cover some of the costs of Paul Pogba, a player they are very much pursuing this summer.

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool deal with the Raheem Sterling ongoing saga, but for the moment, they are the most active in the market and Pedro could be the next in line to arrive at Anfield.
