The agent of Nico Gaitan has confirmed that he will be in talks with Manchester United over a potential summer move for the Argentine star
While it is almost a norm for Manchester United to be linked with a plethora of players during every transfer window, the Red Devils have been relatively quiet on the transfer front so far and have only completed the signing of Memphis Depay on a £25million deal.
In recent times there has been more talk of departures rather than arrivals, with the likes of David De Gea, Angel Di Maria, Robin van Persie, Nani and Javier Hernandez all being linked with an exit from Old Trafford.
However, United could finally be in line to make their second signing of the summer in the form of Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan.
Gaitan joining United is a possibility
Gaitan has long been linked with a move to Manchester United and while it remains to be seen whether he would join the Red Devils, many believed that the Argentinean star would finally earn a big money move away from Benfica this summer.
Now to fuel the fire to the long running speculation that Gaitan could well be on his way to Old Trafford, agent, José Irribarran, has moved on to reveal that he will be in negotiations with the Premier League giants and a move taking place over the summer could well be within the realms of possibility.
Gaitan’s representative told A Bola, “Everything is possible. There’s a negotiation pending with Manchester United.
“The player wants everything to go as smoothly as possible, We’re waiting for an answer from the vice-president. I can’t really say anything else.”
