Premier League giants Chelsea are eyeing a move for Valencia star Jose Gaya according to reports from the Metro.

Chelsea purchased arguably one of the best full backs in the world last summer by recruiting the services of Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £16million.

Quite surprisingly though, Luis has failed to nail a regular spot in the Chelsea first team due to the wonderful form shown by Cesar Azpilicueta throughout the course of the season and due to the lack of minutes coming his way, the 29-year old had admitted recently that he could be on the move during the upcoming summer.

A transfer back to Atletico has been touted for Luis and if indeed the Brazilian international does return to Spain, one can be sure that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be on the lookout for a new left back.

Now to fuel speculation regarding Luis’ exit from Stamford Bridge, it has been claimed that the Blues are eyeing up a move for Valencia star Jose Gaya.

Gaya has emerged as one of the finest young left backs in the world due to his fine performances for Valencia over the last few seasons and a host of Premier League clubs have been eyeing a move for the Spaniard.

Chelsea were also mentioned as one of the clubs interested in Gaya and now with Luis set to depart, the Metro has claimed by reports that the Premier League leaders will be ramping up their pursuit of the Valencia youngster by placing a bid of around £13.2million.
