The deadline day certainly has the propensity to throw up some surprising transfers as well as thrills and spill, but Radamel Falcao joining Manchester United will probably go down as one of the most shocking transfers in recent memory.
In a move that very few anticipated, it has been reported that Falcao is expected to arrive imminently at Manchester to undergo a medical before completing a season long loan move from Monaco.
The deal is set to cost United around £5million and the Red Devils will have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Falcao set to make shock move to United
Falcao had been widely expected to leave Monaco recently but it was believed that either one of Real Madrid, Arsenal or Manchester City would be his most likely destination. However, United have made a shock swoop at the last minute and it seems just a matter of time before the Colombian superstar is unveiled as a Red Devils player.
Many had been expecting Manchester United to sign a midfielder and defender on deadline day and as a result, the potential signing of Falcao has sent shockwaves.
It will be interesting to see how Falcao will fit in at United
It is a well known fact that Falcao has been one of the world’s best strikers over the last few years during his spell with Porto and Atletico Madrid, and his arrival to United will certainly improve an already star studded attacking lineup consisting of the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria among others.
However, one is left to wonder how the 28-year old will fit in at Old Trafford and whether he will be picked ahead of either Rooney or van Perise in the starting lineup.
What do you think? Will Falcao be a good signing for United or just an unnecessary luxury?
