The Brondby vs Liverpool pre-season clash will take place at the Brøndby Stadion on Wednesday, July 16 (9:00 AM Pacific) and it will be a chance for the Reds’ fans to catch a first glimpse of their beloved side in action ahead of the upcoming 2014/15 season.
The match will also be a special occasion for Brondby, as it will mark the 50th Anniversary for the Danish club since their formation back in 1964.
The clash on Wednesday will be Brondby’s final preparation match before they get their domestic campaign underway and the Superliga side will certainly want to claim a victory over their illustrious counterparts, in order to head into the campaign with a big confidence boost.
For Liverpool, the match is more about regaining fitness levels and match sharpness than the actual result. Therefore, manager Brendan Rodgers will surely give a host of young players a chance while couple of the new arrivals may also feature.
Brondby possess a couple of players familiar to fans in England, in the form of Martin Albrechtsen and Johan Elmander, and the duo is expected to lineup for Wednesday’s clash.

Brad Jones looks set to start in goal, while the defence should consist of Jose Enrique, Andre Wisdom, Tiago Illori and home town hero Daniel Agger, who will be returning to the club after 8 years. Martin Skrtel, Jon Flanagan and Brad Smith are also in contention.

The likes of Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen, Philippe Coutinho, Suso, Conor Coady and new signing Emre Can are available to start in midfield, while youngsters such as Jordan Rossiter and Joao Teixeira will also feature in some capacity.
Rickie Lambert is said to have cut his holiday short to return to training, but will in all likeliness, not feature, which means that Fabio Borini could be leading the line for the Reds.

The result of the match does not hold much value for either side, but considering that Brondby are well into their final preparation for pre-season, while Liverpool are just about to commence theirs, the Danish side may have the advantage in terms of match fitness.
Brondby’s league campaign starts in just a couple of days’ time and they will certainly want a good result on the day in order to celebrate their anniversary as well.
