Diego Costa’s transfer to Chelsea isn’t exactly fresh news, but now and then we get some new information about the topic.

Today, Spanish “El Confidecial” brought out some so called “insider” information. Allegedly, an unnamed source connected to Atletico Madrid claims that the Spanish club agreed to sell the productive hitman Diego Costa to Chelsea at the end of the season, for a massive 60 million pound fee!

The source claims that this information is now being kept secret because of the great success the club is enjoying at the moment, but that it will be announced right after season ends.

We’ve heard a lot about “done deals” in the past, and we know that very often those “confident sources” are proven to be wrong, but, where there’s smoke, there is fire.

Chelsea is certainly interested in Diego Costa. Mourinho wants to shake up his array of attackers, and he will offload his mischievous strikers in the summer. Ba, Torres, Eto’o and Lukaku could all leave the club, and make way for new, and possibly expensive signings.

Fernando Torres could play a huge role in this transfer.

The Spaniard is a product of Atletico Madrid’s academy, and he told the Spanish press that he will return to his boyhood club when the proper time for it comes.

His career in Chelsea never reached the levels all were hoping for, he cannot make up for the time lost on him, and his transfer looks very probable at the moment.

Diego Costa should adapt easily to the English Premier League. His physical style of play could make him one of the most potent and lethal strikers in England. It is believed that exactly that sort of a striker (or maybe Romelu Lukaku who is out on loan) would seal the deal for Chelsea, and bring them the title this season.

Costa could work perfectly with the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar and use the space they create, which is one of his best attributes.

This rumor doesn’t come from a reliable source, but it is believed that Costa is destined to go to Chelsea regardless.

Overall, we give this transfer 80% chance of happening.
