Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge against Stoke City in a crucial Premier League game on Saturday, April 5, 2014 (9:30 AM Pacific, 17:30 GMT).  Chelsea are in 2nd place and literally can not lose a single game.  Stoke City sit comfortably in 10th and will take what they can from this game.  Liverpool, if they can win the remainders of their game, will win the title, so Chelsea cannot afford to lose a single point.

Chelsea are coming off a disgusting loss against Paris Saint Germain in which they lost 1-3.  This is arguably Chelsea’s worst loss of the season and one of the most influential.  The Blues could easily be considered to be in the worst form of the season right now.  Not only was the team performance extremely weak, but the individual performances were downright embarrassing.

Stoke City have won four of their last six Premier League and are currently in hot form.  In their last three games they have scored eight goals which shows that the team is capable of scoring goals.  The goals are coming from all players from the midfield and the forward positions.  Stoke are known to be a hard working team who will do what they can to scrape out the best result.

Key players for this game will be Eden Hazard and Peter Crouch.  Hazard has been decent the last few games for Chelsea but has been lacking the magic Chelsea fans love to watch.  Something seems to be uneasy with Hazard and Chelsea fans will be hoping to see him break out of this rut.

Peter Crouch, the England international, will really put Chelsea’s highly criticized defense to the test.  Standing at 6’7” the Stoke front man will try to put one past the Blues.

Jose Mourinho, manager of Chelsea, was furious after their previous loss and knows how important this game is.  Both the Champions League and the Premier League seem to be getting farther and farther out of reach.

Mark Hughes, manager of Stoke City, has had quite a successful season with Stoke.  Hughes will do his best to take away title chances from Chelsea and further boost his team into the top half of the Premier League.

Chelsea will come away with the win with a final score of 2-1.  Their defense has shown weakness recently and the win will not come away with a clean sheet.  Stoke will surely put up a strong fight and will be happy with their result.
