The Santos vs Puebla Liga MX match will be held this Friday, January 17, 2014 (7:30 PM Pacific) at the TSM Corona.  Neither team has been able to win either of its first two Liga MX matches, and will be looking to break that negative streak with a win on Friday night.

Coach Caixinha has a talented team that is expected to once again make a deep run in the Liga MX playoffs, however, he cannot afford to start off the season without winning any of the first three matches. The home match against a modest Puebla squad that is expected to do little other than to achieve a mid-table standing, should be where Santos earns its first win.

However, Caixinha should be a bit concerned that neither of his star strikers, Quintero nor Peralta, have scored a goal. In fact, Santos has only scored a single goal in two matches (the goal against Chivas was an own goal). Also, Jose Abella, the defender from Santos, will miss the match against Puebla because he will be serving a suspension.

Santos vs Puebla Prediction

Santos has a great squad that has simply struggled in the first two weeks, but they should be able to recover against Puebla. Although Puebla is no pushover, they simply do not  have the talent to compete against a Santos squad that is hungry for victory. The Santos vs Puebla match will end in a 2-0 victory for the home side.

  1. This guy obviously has very little knowledge about the Mexican soccer league. His prediction was way off. Puebla fc had the highest possession of the ball and the most dangerous plays against Santos. Even though the game was a tie, Puebla deserved the victory more than Santos did..

    • It’s a prediction, and a respectable one. Santos was playing at home and has been one of the strongest teams in Mexico in the past semester; unlike Puebla. Sometimes predictions are spot on, most of the time they’re not.
