The Peru vs Ecuador CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers match will be this Friday, June 7, 2013 (7:00 PM PST) at the Estadio Nacional in Lima.  In this match, Peru will play for their survival against a very difficult visitor like Ecuador.  With 11 points, Peru is currently in 7th place, where a win is crucial if they want to remain in a close fight for CONMEBOL’s wild card seed.  Ecuador has been outstanding thus far, as they are in 2nd place with 20 points; 4 points below the leaders Argentina, and 5 more than the wild-card seed.

Peru has been on the rise as they have not lost in their last 5 matches, including a win in their last game against Chile.  Friday’s game is a great opportunity to obtain another 3 points to keep alive in the fight of the wild-card seed.  The team coach ed by Sergio Arkarian has done great at home as they have only lost one match.  With a win against Ecuador, Peru could move up one position, but most importantly, they would be within a win from a World Cup seed.

Ecuador is on the way to another World Cup; they are in 2nd place, and they have one of the most dynamic offenses in the qualifiers.  They will visit the difficult Estadio Nacional with the opportunity that a win will put them just a point away from the leader Argentina.  Like Peru, Ecuador is also on a great non-losing streak; they are undefeated for 6 games.  Ecuador will use the speedy striker Christian Bermudez and Joao Rojas in their attack to try and bolster scoring opportunities.

Peru vs Ecuador Prediction

Peru and Ecuador are on positive streaks, in which they have played good soccer, both defensively and offensively.  On Friday, both go into the game knowing that a win will put them very close to their objective. With a win, Ecuador will be closer to tying a World Cup seed; meanwhile, Peru will remain in the fight for the wild-card.  With both teams in form, and with Peru’s toughness at home, their streaks will remain alive.  The Peru vs Ecuador match will end 1-1.
