Liga MX Week 14 Review – Torta Tuesday from Soccer Mexicana

Jason Marquitz at Soccer Mexicana provides a great overview of this past week’s events in the Liga MX. Here’s a teaser:

Thirty-three goals were scored in this week’s nine matches. The goal scoring fireworks packed a punch much like this torta. This monster is called La Aguila. With America’s win over Leon, Las Aguilas seem primed to make a run at another title. To complete the perfect symmetry, I picked up this torta at a place called Antojos de Leon.

  1. Yes Liga MX Week 14 was a very explosive week with lots of goals. Friday’s two games had a total of 6 goals, Saturday had 18 goals, and Sunday in two games there was 9 goals. America’s win over Leon boosted their confidence going into their games vs Puebla and Pumas. A win over both teams will put them practically in the playoff’s and give them a lot of momentum going into next week’s match vs Pachuca. Overall I hope Week 15 can have the same explosive goals scoring games as Week 14.

    • Yea, as the regular season winds down, every match becomes crucial (well, most of them). I expect America will finish strong, and could even dislodge Leon from the 3rd place and the Copa Libertadores spot. As much as I like Leon, I prefer America goes to Libertadores, America has a big enough talent pool to play well in both tournaments.
